Masterclass A
Offshore Oil & Gas Field Development and the Vessels Involved, From Exploration to Decommission
The Offshore Oil and Gas industry is very buoyant in all areas of the world, including South East Asia. There are also new regions opening up for exploration and production, including more challenging deepwater.
At all stages of development of an offshore oil and gas field developments require the support of a wide range of Vessels Development of Offshore Fields. Currently many new vessels are being designed, built or considered to fulfill these requirements.
These vessels include:
- Exploration
- Drilling
- Floating Production
- Transportation
- Construction and Installation Vessels
- Supply Vessels
- Specialist Field Support Vessels
- Export Vessels (Trading Tankers, Shuttle Tankers and LNG Carriers)
The design and requirements of the vessels will be considered with examples together with the vessels functions and how they are used in the field development.
Benefits of attending the course:
- Provides an Overview of full Oil & Gas Field Development activities
- Details the types of Vessels used in Offshore Oil & Gas Field Developments
- Information on both Shallow water and Deep water activities
- Basis information on all operational aspects such as Exploration, Drilling, Construction, Production and Decommissioning
Masterclass B - Marine Drilling
This 3-day intensive training course will cover the details of all offshore drilling, and drilling rigs (but with emphasis on deepwater drilling requirements). This course reviews the different types of floating drilling rigs, which are currently highly automated and efficient.
This course will also cover the components of a drilling rig and its operation & provide a link between land based drilling and offshore drilling. It will add a depth of knowledge about rigs, wells, drilling practices and addresses the issue involved in exploration and drilling in ever increasing depths of water and potentially hostile environment. It will also look at new drilling approaches such as batch drilling and drill through xmas trees.
Key Benefits of Attending:
- Learn the different types and functions of offshore drilling rigs
- Understand how Drilling Rigs Operate
- Learn how wells are drilled from offshore platforms
- Learn how the drill floor is laid out and about the drill rig components
- Understand the different drilling components, including drilling muds, drill strings and marine risers
- Understand the formation of pressure and the working of the Blowout Preventer
- Get up to date with the latest advances in deepwater drilling techniques
- Learn how to apply safety and environmental issues
Who Should Attend?
- Senior engineers working in the field or moving into the field
-Drilling Engineers & Managers
- Production engineers who wish to learn more about drilling
- Consultants working both in design and engineering activities and in offshore environments
- Operational, managerial and technical staff
- Recent graduates and those new to the field
- Representative from project management, training managers and finance departments
